Transformation Challenge 2024 Day 8
It's Day 8 and the Start of Week 2 of the Shaw Transformation Challenge. This week's Weekly goal is to eat 2 cups of Fruits/Veggies everyday. I already do this and I asked the club for some suggestions to give myself a challenge in addition to this one as it's not really a challenge for me. I also spent some time with my mom and picked up a few things at the mall.
For this week the challenge is to eat 2 cups of Veggies and or Fruits. I already eat a banana, 3-6 oz of carrots and a medium Granny Smith Apple every day, and if I do the riced cauliflower bags its way over the 2 cups. So I asked the club for some ideas. I had a couple ideas were to increase the vegg/fruit even more, do some sort of exercise, or another mental goal.
I went with option 2 but it's also a bit option 3. I am doing a minimum of 20 minutes of cardio everyday. I can't stand cardio but it needs to be done. Doing this Cardio will help to put me at ~600-800 minimum calories deficit everyday. I decided to change my Calorie goal to 2000 from 1800. I want to try this out for this week to see if I notice a difference. At 1800 I am doing ok but I could definitely use more energy at the gym.
I went to the Gym and used the upright stationary bike for 22 minutes. I burnt around 230 calories. I varied the effort to “ease” myself into the bike. I forgot how much discomfort I feel with this type of bike. Going forward I am going to use the other style of sit down bike. If I am feeling good I might even use the row machine.
After the Gym I went with my mom to the mall and to Costco. I wanted to get some flat sole shoes for lifting. I went to my brother's house the Saturday before the Challenge started and he had me do some squats and noticed I was having issues stabilizing. It was due to my shoes. I have always worn running/training shoes and those have an arch and are not good for lifting. My mom got some clothes for the spring for when she goes on her walks.
At Costco I really didn't need anything. I did want to look for some cauliflower tortillas I saw on Will Tennyson's Channel. But they did not have them. I did find some Spicy Chicken Tenders to try. I also got some Bare Apple crisps instead of the Poppers chips for the lower calorie option. My mom got some dark chocolate bites that she likes as a treat.
When I got home I tried the new Chicken and good lord they are amazing. But now I am watching the Super Bowl so I will end it here.
